Studies show that Nutri-Vet® Guard+ for Cats kills adult fleas, flea eggs, and flea larvae and prevents development of all flea states for up to six weeks.  Apply monthly if your cat is at high risk for flea reinfestation, or in a highly infested environment.  Apply monthly to control ticks and chewing lice.  

Nutri-Vet® Guard+ for Cats remains effective, even after bathing, water immersion, or exposure to sunlight.  Allow treated area to dry thoroughly.  Avoid contact with treated area until dry.  Do not reapply for 30 days.  Nutri-Vet® Guard+ for Cats can be used on breeding, pregnant and lactating female cats.

Application Instructions

Step 1: To use the product, take the tubes out of the package and select one tube. Hold the vial with the notched tip facing upwards and away from the face. Use a pair of scissors to cut off the tip at the notches.

Step 2: Turn the vial upside down and use the open end of the tube to part your pet's hair between the shoulder blades.

Step 3. Apply the entire contents of the tube to your cat's skin in a single spot between their shoulder blades by squeezing it. It is important to let the treated area dry completely

Can I use Nutri-Vet Guard+ on animals not listed on the package?

Our Nutri-Vet Guard+ products have been crafted specifically for the intended species on the package and have not been tested for use with any other species. For the safety and happiness of your pets, our products should only be used on those listed on the packaging.

Can I use two flea and tick products at the same time?

Our products have not been tested for use in conjunction with any other flea and tick products. It’s important to only use Nutri-Vet Guard+ as directed, and not in conjunction with any other flea and tick medication.

The safety of the pets we serve is utmost importance to us, using multiple flea and tick treatments could lead to overexposure causing health concerns. Please reach out to your veterinarian for any use of multiple flea and tick treatments on your pet.

Can I bathe my pet after applying the Nutri-Vet Guard+?

Please wait a minimum of 24hours after applying Nutri-Vet Guard+ before bathing your pet.

Can I use Nutri-Vet Guard+ if my pet has seizures?

Due to the sensitivity of animals with seizures, we recommend speaking to your veterinarian before applying flea and tick treatment. They have an intimate knowledge of your pet’s health needs and will be able to help guide your choice for flea and tick treatment. 

Can I use Nutri-Vet Guard+ if my pet is on prescription medications?

The health and safety of the animals we serve is our top priority. To ensure that our products are safe and fit within the parameters of your pet’s medication and supplement regimen, it is best to consult your veterinarian. They have a better understanding of your pet’s health needs and can determine if Nutri-Vet Guard+ fits within their care needs alongside their disease/illness. 

I’m still seeing fleas after using Nutri-Vet Guard+, why?

It is important to remember that adult fleas that are seen on a pet make up only 5% of the total population, as 95% live in the environment in other life stages. The minimum life cycle of a flea takes 3 months. It’s important to consistently treat both the pet and environment when dealing with fleas. The following are some things you can do to treat both your pet and the environment.  

  • Treat all pets with a flea medication according to the package instructions.  
  • Treat the pet’s environment with a flea spray according to the package instructions.  
  • Vacuum carpet daily, emptying canister daily.  
  • Wash bedding, pet bedding, and rugs regularly with hot water.

Can Nutri-Vet Guard+ be used on pregnant dogs and cats?

The EPA has approved the use of Nutri-Vet Guard+ on pregnant cats, however, for pregnant dogs, please reach out to your veterinarian to discuss what product is best. 

How long does Nutri-Vet Guard+ remain effective?

One tube of Nutri-Vet Guard+ starts working to kill fleas within 4 hours of application and will continue killing fleas for up to 30 days. 

Can I use Nutri-Vet Guard+ on puppies and kittens?

Our Nutri-Vet Guard+ can be used on cats and dogs 8 weeks of age and older as long as they meet the minimum weight requirement listed on the packaging.

Does Nutri-Vet Guard+ work as a heartworm medication?

Nutri-Vet Guard+ is a flea and tick preventative. It does not work as a heartworm preventative, and therefore we suggest speaking to your veterinarian to determine which heartworm medication you should use in conjunction with Nutri-Vet Guard+ to ensure you are providing whole body parasite prevention.

I cannot find an expiration date on my Nutri-Vet Guard+, where will I find it?

When the product is stored appropriately, our Nutri-Vet Guard+ will remain effective for several years. The number on the product is a batch/lot codes so that our Quality Assurance team can trace and track specific batches when needed. Our Nutri-Vet Guard+ has met all storage and stability testing required by the EPA.
